As part of Sonalika Financial Services’ CSR initiative, Sonalika Publications facilitated a hands-on learning programme delivered by Kirigami Arts. From Gond, Warli and Japi art to Moser Lamps and balloon-powered experiments, the experience brought creativity, cultural learning and STEM together for school students.
Where art meets learning
As part of Sonalika Financial Services’ CSR initiative, Sonalika Publications facilitated a hands-on learning experience that brought together Indian art, creativity and STEM for school students.
The programme was designed around a simple idea: learning becomes more meaningful when children are given the opportunity to make, experiment and discover for themselves.
Kirigami Arts brought together a dedicated team of artists and facilitators to deliver a diverse range of activities within the CSR programme. The experience combined Indian art traditions such as Japi, Gond and Warli art with hands-on STEM activities including the Moser Lamp and a balloon-powered experiment.
Rather than following a conventional workshop format, the programme moved students across different forms of making and discovery. Art activities introduced them to visual traditions and storytelling, while the STEM activities encouraged them to understand scientific principles through simple materials and experimentation.
With a large group of students participating across multiple activities, the programme also required careful facilitation and coordination. Kirigami Arts brought a dedicated team to guide participants, manage activity stations and ensure that the experience remained engaging and accessible throughout.
The collaboration demonstrated how CSR programmes can move beyond one-dimensional activities and create spaces where creativity, cultural awareness, curiosity and practical learning come together.
